Equal Salary at Workplace - Sharing Best Practice & Discussion
Women in the Czech Republic worked 60 days longer in 2022 to earn the same salary as men in 2021. Women in the Czech Republic still earn 16.4% less than men on average, compared to an EU average of 13%. Responsible companies take the initiave to change it by focusing intensively on this issue.
Philip Morris ČR a.s. was the first company in the Czech Republic to receive the prestigious Equal-Salary certification, awarded by the Swiss EQUAL-SALARY Foundation as an independent confirmation of equal pay for men and women in the same jobs. The certification is a tangible way of showing that pay equality is backed up by real data and not assumptions. The award of the certificate is based on an independent assessment of compliance with very strict criteria. Philip Morris CR has diversity and equality of working conditions as one of the key values of its corporate culture. Gender balance across the company, including transparent and equal remuneration, is one of the areas of diversity to which Philip Morris pays close attention.
The topic of the meeting will be equal pay and the Gender Pay Gap, where a representative of Philip Morris ČR, Michaela Prajerová, People and Culture Manager, will present how they have approached this topic, what the process of data collection and subsequent analysis was. We will find out how they managed to communicate this sensitive topic internally and externally and how employees perceived it. What results they found and whether this was reflected in overall employee satisfaction and motivation. Does equal pay and certification play a role in recruiting new employees, especially women? Does it have a positive impact on employee loyalty and talent retention? How does it affect overall turnover? We will find out anwer to these questions and much more.
