Circular economy - how to circulate bottles and cans
"In the current system, more than half of PET bottles and three-quarters of cans end up in landfills or incinerators", the accompanying comments to the proposed law state. “The back-up system will ensure up to 90% recovery of PET bottles and cans, which will be used again to make new beverage packaging, without needing to require any public funding. The proposal envisages the launch of the entire system at the beginning of 2026."
Business for Society invites you to a unique event on the potential and opportunities of the circular economy as part of the "Responsible and Innovative Czechia" program. We follow up on last year's successful debate dedicated to the Circular Economy and Scandinavian inspiration (link here) as well as the Sustainable Business Forum UP!2023 (link here), which was focused on innovative partnership projects among responsible companies that help reduce the carbon footprint in particular at the level of supply chain, which was significantly reflected in the results of the prestigious TOP Responsible Company 2023 awards.
Due to the cooperation in circular economy topics with the Scandinavian embassies and interest of responsible companies in innovation for sustainability, we have prepared the Round table on a hot topic of the circular economy in the Czech republic - upcoming law about the new deposit system on PET bottles and cans.
