Dear signatories, members and representatives of regions, cities and municipalities,
We would like to inform you about the initiative of the European Commission, which has announced a competition for the prize for the second time
"European City of Diversity and Inclusion"
As part of the fight against discrimination, in helping to promote diversity and a fairer society, the Commission has taken a proactive approach and continues to strive to deliver on its commitment. This prize is awarded for the work done by cities, towns or regions in Europe to promote diversity and inclusion.
Municipalities, cities or regions can apply for the competition, where they have a great opportunity to show the world what they are doing to create a more diverse and inclusive space for their citizens.
The award has two main categories
Cities/municipalities/regions with less than 50,000 inhabitants
Cities/municipalities/regions with more than 50,000 inhabitants
A special prize will also be awarded for LGBT+ equality initiatives
The application deadline is February 15, 2023 at 12:00 CET.
The awards ceremony will take place on April 27, 2023.
